Duskwardens
The Eternal Conflict
The Dusk Wardens are not an army, nor are they bound by law. They are a collection of broken individuals with different visions for how to save a city that does not want saving. They fight not because they believe they can win, but because they know that if they don’t, no one else will.
Duskbane (Alaric Ebonhart) – The Shadowed Tactician
By day, Lord Alaric Ebonhart is a respected aristocrat, a man of intelligence, charm, and political influence. But as the sun sets, he dons the mantle of Duskbane, Umbraeth’s silent enforcer. A master strategist, he moves like a ghost through the city’s streets, always two steps ahead of his enemies. Though he fights to protect Umbraeth from descending into total chaos, his obsession with control and his willingness to operate in the moral gray often bring him dangerously close to the darkness he seeks to destroy.
Ronan Crowe – The Iron-Bound Revolutionary
Born into the city’s middle tier, Ronan Crowe is an engineer and inventor who believes that technology should serve the people—not just the elite. Though he is a man of strong morals, his fight against corruption has made him an enemy of both the Undercroft and Umbraeth’s aristocracy. Wielding a mix of mechanical ingenuity and raw determination, Ronan walks the fine line between reformer and insurgent. He clashes often with Duskbane, believing that true change must come from open defiance, not from the shadows.
Dr. Seraphina Vale – The Scholar of Light
A brilliant scientist and Luminal scholar, Dr. Seraphina Vale is one of the few individuals who truly understands Zero-Core Energy and the dangers it presents. Though she is fascinated by the mechanics of power and corruption, she believes that the only way to cleanse Umbraeth is through order and controlled progress. Armed with experimental Luminal devices, she walks the city’s streets as both a healer and a weapon, exposing the horrors hidden beneath Umbraeth’s surface. Her mind is her greatest strength, but her detached, analytical nature often puts her at odds with the more emotional members of the Dusk Wardens.
Meet Thorne Darrow – The Lone Hunter
Umbraeth has never been kind to those who fall behind. Thorne Darrow learned this the hard way.
His parents were once respected, but they succumbed to Nethercraft’s corruption, their minds and bodies wasting away as the dark power drained them. He tried to save them. He tried to bring them back. But in the end, the hardest thing he ever had to do was end their suffering himself.
Now, he walks the city alone—a man with no illusions of heroism, only the certainty that some evils must be hunted down and destroyed. Armed with modified weapons powered by Zero-Core energy and forbidden Nether technology, Thorne is both hunter and hunted, feared even by those he fights alongside.
The Undercroft whispers his name. The Dusk Wardens keep their distance. But when the horrors of Umbraeth rise, Thorne Darrow is the last thing they see.
